The Remete Brook gushing forth from three sources flows towards Lake Balaton either in an open or a covered stream-bed.
It reaches the lake under the so-called Bridge of Sighs.
The name of the headspring translates as hermit and is based on local tradition.
The railway embankment visible near the headspring and along the brook, had been built in 1909 and
became the historic industrial monument of the one-time Alsóörs-Veszprém railway line.
The embankment was constructed of the typical red sandstone of the region.
Walking on the hiking trail marked with green stripe towards Lake Balaton, we can turn to the Red Sandstone Study Path marked with blue triangles.
Walking on along the opposite direction we can reach the Balaton Uplands section of the National Blue Trail marked with blue stripes.
